New play on St Maximilian Kolbe
Kolbe's Gift a new play by David Gooderson is being presented by the New Farham Repertory Actor's Company at the POSK Theatre in Hammersmith from 19 21 September.Auschwitz 1941. Maximilian Kolbe, a Polish priest, volunteers to take the place of another prisoner in the starvation cell... What motivates such extraordinary self-sacrifice? And what are the consequences for the survivor? This important new play explores the heights and depths of human experience. Since 9/11 and the 2005 London bombings the themes of martyrdom, sacrifice and survival have an urgent topicality.
